Primary and secondary LSSs are identified by their respective subsystem IDs (SSIDs), the
WWNN of the storage disk subsystem, and the LSS number. The LINK parameter contains
the System Adapter ID (SAID), the source port ID, and the target port ID. A path definition
connects two individual LSSs. For each LSS pair you repeat the command, each time
adjusting the SSID and LSS numbers accordingly. Note that for Global Copy it does not make
sense to establish the CGROUP attribute that triggers the extended long busy (ELB)
condition.
Define paths for multiple primary storage disk subsystems
If, for a Global Mirror session, you intend to use Global Copy primary volumes from LSSs
from multiple primary storage disk subsystems, one thing you need to do is to define the
corresponding Global Mirror session paths between these primary storage disk subsystems.
These paths allow communication between the Master and the Subordinates; see
Figure 24-3.

Figure 24-3 Define paths between local primary storage disk subsystems; decide on a Master
This is a conventional CESTPATH command where you specify the Master storage disk
subsystem as the primary, and the corresponding Subordinates as the secondary storage
disk subsystems. At this time you decide which storage disk subsystem will become the
Master. Any LSS in the Subordinate storage disk subsystems is eligible for establishing the
Master - Subordinate relationship needed for the Global Mirror session.
