Use only the replacement battery pack of the required size and type: GP60AAH3BML metal hydride rechargeable Battery, 3.6volt @ 600mAh made by GPI International Limited or 3SN-2/3AA60H-S-X1 made by SANIK BATTERY CO., LTD.

If not, you must contact your local telephone company to arrange to have Caller ID service installed on your line. There is an extra charge added to your monthly telephone bill for this service. If you only subscribed to the Caller ID service, the IBM-3345 will not display Call Waiting Caller ID information.
SELECTING A LOCATION Install the IBM-3345 base unit in a location that is near an AC power outlet and a modular telephone line jack. The base's location effects the phone's range. Try several locations to see which provides the best performance.

INSTALLATION - continued INSTALLATION THE BATTERY PACK Your IBM-3345 telephone comes with a rechargeable Metal Hydrogen 3.6V @600m Battery Pack in the remote keypad unit. You must install and charge the battery pack for at least 15 hours before you use it.
March 15, 2001 IBM-3345 (REV : 0.1) INSTALLATION - continued CONNECTING THE HEADSET Insert the mini stereo plug from the headset cord into the headphone jack on the right side of remote keypad. 1. Slip the headset cord under the strain relief clip located on the remote keypad. (See Figure 9)
March 15, 2001 IBM-3345 (REV : 0.1) OPERATION CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK Place the remote keypad unit into the top of the base unit. 1. The IN-USE/CHARGE indicator will light if the remote keypad is inserted in the base Unit. (See Figure 10) 2.
March 15, 2001 IBM-3345 (REV : 0.1) OPERATION – continued When you first use the phone after charging or recharging the battery pack, the phone might not work and you might hear error tones. • If you hear the error tones, return the remote keypad to the base for at least 5 seconds to reset the security access-protection code.

IBM-3345 will not receive and display Call Waiting with Caller ID information. The IBM-3345 will let you know when a call is waiting as well as who is calling before you answer. If another party calls while you are having a conversation, the handset symbol will flash in the LCD window Along with the telephone number and name of the person who is on call waiting.
