Chapter 6. Installing the DS400 storage subsystem
This chapter describes the DS400 storage subsystem components.
Inventory checklist
After you unpack the storage subsystem, make sure that you have the items that
are described in this section.
Hardware
IBM TotalStorage DS400 storage subsystem model 1700-1RS comes with the
following components:
v One Fibre Channel RAID controller
v 14 hard disk drive filler panels
v Two power supplies
IBM TotalStorage DS400 storage subsystem model 1700-2RD comes with the
following components:
v Two Fibre Channel RAID controllers
v 14 hard disk drive filler panels
v Two power supplies
The following hardware comes with all storage subsystem models:
v One rack-mounting hardware kit
v Ethernet wrap plug (for diagnostic purposes only)
v Rack jumper power cords (one or two depending on storage subsystem model)
v Chassis bezel assembly
Software and documentation (all models)
The following software and documentation come with the storage subsystem:
v IBM ServeRAID 8.20 Application CD
v IBM TotalStorage DS300 and DS400 Support CD
v IBM TotalStorage DS300 and DS400 Quick Installation Guide
v IBM Documentation CD, including:
v Rack Mounting Assembly kit, including:
