Chapter 3. Installing and cabling the DS300 storage
subsystem
This chapter describes the DS300 storage subsystem components and how to
connect it to other devices.
Inventory checklist
After you unpack the storage subsystem, make sure that you have the items that
are described in this section.
Hardware
The IBM TotalStorage DS300 storage subsystem (1701-1RL) comes with the
following components:
v One iSCSI RAID controller
v One power supply
v Seven hard disk drive filler panels
The IBM TotalStorage DS300 storage subsystem (1701-1RS) comes with the
following components:
v One iSCSI RAID controller
v 14 hard disk drive filler panels
v Two power supplies
The IBM TotalStorage DS300 storage subsystem (1701-2RD) comes with the
following components:
v Two iSCSI RAID controllers
v 14 hard disk drive filler panels
v Two power supplies
The following hardware comes with all storage subsystem models:
v One rack-mounting hardware kit
v Ethernet wrap plug (for diagnostic purposes only)
v Rack jumper power cords (one or two depending on storage subsystem model)
v Chassis bezel assembly
Software and documentation (all models)
The following software and documentation come with the storage subsystem:
v IBM ServeRAID 8.20 Application CD
v IBM TotalStorage DS300 and DS400 Support CD
v IBM TotalStorage DS300 and DS400 Quick Installation Guide
