Preparing the System
Warning: Normal shipping and handling can result
in a permanent loss of all data on a fixed disk drive.
We recommend that you back up all fixed-disk files
onto diskettes before continuing with this
procedure.
Depending on the amount of data stored, you may
need as many as 32 diskettes to back up each fixed
disk drive. Refer to the Disk Operating System
manual for a description of the Backup command.
Following is the procedure for preparing your
system.

Insert the Diagnostics diskette.

Set the Power switch on the expansion unit (if
attached) and system unit to On.
The following message appears on your screen.

Version XXX (C) Copyright IBM Corp XXXX, XXXX
SELECT AN OPTION

RUN DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINES

FORMAT DISKETTE
2 - COpy DISKETTE

PREPARE SYSTEM FOR RELOCATION
9 - EXIT TO SYSTEM DISKETTE
ENTER THE ACTION DESIRED
