    Chapter 1 Scanning Basics This chapter gives you step-by-step instructions for using EPSON Scan, the scanning software that comes with your Epson Expression 10000XL.     When you reinsert the cover, line up the hinge pins with the positioning holes and lower the cover into place. Using EPSON Scan EPSON Scan provides three scanning modes: ■ Home Mode: Makes scanning quick and easy, and provides excellent results for all types of documents.

In that case, either click the Configuration button on EPSON Scan’s main screen and increase the size of the thumbnail cropping area, or preview your image using the Full-size preview screen instead.

    If you know how you plan to use the final image (for example, if you’re printing it as a 4 × 6 photo or digitally projecting it), you can create a marquee with exactly the right proportions.
