Quickstart Setup Guide for the EI-1000/2000 Scale Indicator
Overview
This guide is meant to cover most scale setups without going into the full details contained in
the manual for the EI-1000/2000 instruments. The scale and indicator manuals contain specifics on
installation and operation.
Initial Scale Inspection(any scale)
1. Check scale for damage. Shipping damage should be noted as soon as the scale is received.
2. Make sure the scale is level. If the scale is not level it will not sense weight correctly.
3. Inspect load cell cable(s) for damage. Severe bends in the cable can cause unstable readings.
4. Double check the load cell cable is attached to the correct terminals on the indicator. Reference
the table in the main manual for the wiring codes each scale uses.
Indicator Setup and Calibration
The EI-1000/2000 will ship with a factory default configuration for standard scales and scale
packages made by Eagle Microsystems. Generally these settings will not need to be changed.
Recalibration should occasionally be preformed to account for changes in load cell performance that
occur naturally over time or from incidents of shock loading. Reference the abbreviated parameter list
on the next page for Auto-Zero instructions on day tank or filling operations.
