Recovering Your HP V
Workstation's Operating System
If for some reason you should need to recover your HP V
Personal Workstation's operating system (for example, a system crash,
etc.), the HP Tools and Support CD-ROM can help you do this. This CD-
ROM includes a set of tools for recovering your operating system,
configuring the FastRAID option, installing drivers for optimizing the
use of HP hardware and HP installing utilities.
Before using the support tools and utilities found on the HP Tools and
Support CD-ROM, it is recommended that you read carefully the
instructions in the Readme documents provided with each of these tools
and utilities.
You must be on a system that is running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 and
that has access to a printer.
To fully install the Windows NT 4.0 operating system, you need the
Microsoft setup diskettes and the Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 operating
system CD-ROM.
To recover your HP V
follow this procedure:
1. Insert the HP Tools and Support CD-ROM into the CD drive's CD-
ROM tray.
2. Click the Start button and then select Programs in the menu
listing. In the menu that next appears, select Windows NT
Explorer.
3. Double-click on the CD-ROM icon and using the File menu open the
Drivers folder.
4. Open and print the \!install\NT40 file in the format of your choice
(for example, HTML, MS Word or Text).
