Unit displays
Although the unit is in standby
mode, the display lights up
and changes continuously.
"NO PLAY"
"NO DISC"
"F61"
"DVD U11"
"ERROR"

stands for a number.
Television displays
"Cannot display group xx,
content xx."
No on-screen display.

"Check the disc"
"Authorization Error"
"Rental Expired"

Disc trays
Disc tray(s) cannot open.
"CHGR ERR" is displayed.
Memory reset (Initialization)
When the following situations occur, reset the memory:
•
There is no response when buttons are pressed.
•
You want to clear and reset the memory contents.

Disconnect the AC power supply cord. (Wait at least 3 minutes before proceeding to step 2.)

While pressing and holding down [8] on the main unit, reconnect the AC power supply cord.
" ---------" appears on the display.

Release [8]
All the settings are returned to the factory preset.
You will need to reset the memory items.
Maintenance
To clean this unit, wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
•
Never use alcohol, paint thinner or benzine to clean this unit.
•
Before using chemically treated cloth, read the instructions
that came with the cloth carefully.

Turn off the demo function. (If you set the clock, the demo function turns off automatically.)

You inserted a disc which the unit cannot play; insert one that can. (11)
•
You inserted a blank disc.
•
You haven't inserted a disc; insert one.
•
You haven't inserted the disc correctly; insert it correctly. (4, 12)
•
Check and correct the speaker cord connections. (6, 7)
If this does not fix the problem, there is a power supply problem. Consult the dealer.
•
Disc is dirty. Wipe it clean. (4)
•
Incorrect operation performed. Read the instructions and try again.
•
Trouble may have occurred. The number following "H" depends on the status of the unit.
Reset procedure:
Press [^] to switch the unit to standby mode and then back to ON. Alternatively, press
[^] to switch the unit to standby mode, disconnect the AC power supply cord, and then
reconnect it.
If the service numbers fail to clear, note the service number and contact a qualified service
person.
•
You are trying to display incompatible contents.
•
Go to "Display" tab in the Setup menus, and select "On" for "On-Screen Messages". (22)
•
The operation is prohibited by the unit or disc.
•
The disc may be dirty.
•
You are trying to play the DivX VOD content that was purchased with a different registration
DivX
code. You cannot play the content on this unit.
•
The DivX VOD content has zero remaining plays. You cannot play it.

•
Press [^] to release the jammed tray(s) as the unit will switch off. Switch it on again and the
tray(s) will initialize to the previous tray(s) condition.
If this still does not fix the problem, please consult the dealer.
For a cleaner, crisper sound (cassette deck)
Clean the heads regularly to assure good quality playback and
recording. Use a cleaning tape (not included).
