FULL-CHARGE VOLTAGE/STOP CHARGE VOLTAGE CHECK

Equipment
• DC Power Supply
• Digital Multimeter
• Power Supply Adaptor
1. Preparations
1) Set the HSS of the flash to "OFF".
2) Set the equipments as shown in the Fig. 5-4-1.
Note:
For connection method of power supply adaptor, refer to page 5-2.
Set the detection pin of the digital multimeter to the DC voltage detecting point.
(The probe (-) of the digital multimeter can be connected to the negative line of the DC power supply.)
DC power supply
(5.8 V, 1.8 A)
2. Checking Method
1) Set the voltage and current of the DC power supply to "5.8V, 1.8A".
2) Start the charge of the flash.
Note:
When the flash is already on full charge, discharge the flash. Attach the twin flash unit, push the test-flash button to fire the
flash.
3) When the voltage indicated on the digital multimeter is over to "250V", change the current output of the DC power supply to "0.8 A"
to slow down the charging speed.
4) Check that the following specification is satisfied during charge.
Specification
• When the voltage indicated on the digital multimeter reaches "300 ±10 V", the flash-ready lamp will light up.
• When the voltage indicated on the digital multimeter reaches "330 ±5 V", the flash stops charging.
(The DC power supply shows almost "0 A" in its current indicator.)
5) When the specification is not satisfied, perform the "5-3. CHARGING VOLTAGE ADJUSTMENT".
HVL-MT24AM
The probe (–) of the digital multimeter can be connected
to the negative line of the DC power supply.
