Speaker assembly

Description
Speaker assembly
NOTE:
You must remove the left speaker to remove to function board cable.
Before removing the speaker assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the battery (see

Remove the following components:
a.
Service door (see

Keyboard (see
c.
Optical drive

Top cover (see
Remove the speaker assembly:
1.
Position the top cover upside-down.
2.
Remove the 2 Phillips PM2.5×6.0 shoulder screws (1) that secure the speakers to the computer.
3.
Lift the side of each speaker opposite of the screw, and then pull each speaker out from under the tab
on the top cover (2).
4.
Remove the speaker cables from the clips built into the top cover (3).
